Reserve a copy from the libraries UPC

To make a reservation, follow these steps:

  1. Authenticate to DiscoveryUPC. If you have trouble validating yourself, follow these instructions
  2. Find the document you want to book and click on the title to access the full record. You will see the loan conditions of each document according to your user profile.  
  3. Click the link Book at UPC in the Specimens section. If you don't see it, click on the name of one of the libraries to see the copies and reserve a specific volume.

 

Once the form is opened:

  1. Choose the library where you want to collect the document. If you are a POI or PAS and want to receive the document directly at your workplace, select the POI / PAS Job option.
  2. If you are not interested in a document beyond a specific date, you can indicate it. The reservation will expire automatically if the document is not yet available on this date.
  3. Submit the form. 
  4. When the library has the document ready, you will receive an email notification to pick it up within 5 days of receiving the mail.

You can check the status of your reservations at My Account. If you are no longer interested in the reservation, you can cancel it from here.

 

You don't see the book it button or it won't let you make the reservation?

  • you have exhausted the maximum number of simultaneous reservations to which you are entitled
  • you already have another copy of the same document
  • no copy is available for your user profile
  • click on the name of each library in case you need to book a specific volume

Order by PUC

If no copy is available in the libraries of the UPC, you can request one from the PUC.

  1. Expand the search to the PUC/CCUC area.
  2. Find the document you want to reserve and click on the title to access the complete record. Make sure beforehand that there are no copies available in the Libraries of the UPC. 
  3. Click the link Order by PUC in the Specimens section. 

     4. When the form opens, you will see if there are copies available to order:

    5. Select the library where you want to collect the document. If the record has different volumes, indicate what you need and submit the form.

    6. You will receive notification from the library when the document is ready for collection.
