Undergraduate and master's students at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.

Objectives

Identify the different phases of the process of preparing academic work (methodology).
Differentiate between data, information and knowledge.
Identify, specify and clearly express information needs.
Know the most appropriate sources of information and how to exploit/use them.
Apply evaluation criteria and comparison of the results obtained depending on the type of information.
Correctly use citation and bibliographic reference techniques.
Ethically incorporate information from other authors into one's own work, using citations and bibliographic references correctly and the responsible use of generative AI.
Know the copyrights related to the work being produced: intellectual property of academic work and Creative Commons licenses.

Methodology

Each session includes a theoretical presentation and discussion of different cases. Debates will be held in small groups and with the entire class. Real or hypothetical situations are presented in which students, in a fully participatory and practical way, analyze the situation, pose different hypotheses and share their own conclusions.
