d) Information about the document

Information about the archive object of analysis:

  • Emitter
  • Filename
  • Date, time and identifier of the shipment
  • Number of words
  • Message sent by the issuer

When one is displayed coincident block or whole document, the system shows the possible citations and / or paraphrases in the following way:

  • The words or phrases in the analyzed text that appear between quotation marks are shown in gray.
  • The words or phrases in the analyzed text that appear between parenthesis o square brackets are shown in blue.
  • If they are detected possible changes From the text of the font, the words that have been replaced or added are marked in yellow and those that have been deleted in red.

If the reviewer wants to omit these color marks, he can do it from the top of the screen of the text analyzed or from the section "Profile"From the upper right margin.

When one is displayed coincident block or whole document, the top tab “Fonts"Allows:

  • Know the match rate of each source
  • Know the type of source of comparison: magazine, web or academic work
  • Know the number of matching blocks in each source
  • Direct access to matching blocks
  • Link to each of the sources where the matches were found (option "Go to origin"from the 3 points on the right margin)

When the reviewer views one coincident block or whole document, you can exclude blocks that you know the system should not compare by turning off the "Include in the analysis " (option that can be reactivated at any time).

If the reviewer wants to save and / or access any changes made by him to the system analysis (exclusion of matching blocks / sources), he must first log in by clicking on the “Profile> Sign In"From the upper right margin, choosing"Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya"in the corresponding drop down menu.

The sources of analysis, coming from the Internet and / or the program's own database, can be:

  1. Main sources: with the highest percentage of coincidence.
  2. Alternative sources: matching blocks from these alternate sources already appear in one of the main sources (for example, the same summary of a thesis that appears in UPCommons almost Dialnet).

If the reviewer considers it relevant, when viewing one coincident block or whole document, the top tab “Fonts"Allows you to deactivate the primary source and turn the alternate sources into primary ones (so that they appear in the analysis).

Since when analyzing a document it is the material for further comparisons, if a modification of the same work is sent the result of the corresponding analysis will have a very high percentage of coincidences. Therefore, in order to know the actual match percentage of the last submission, the sources corresponding to the previous versions must be excluded.

In case you want to undo any changes made to the system analysis (exclusion of matching blocks / sources), just activate the button "Undo all changes"From the top bar.

The button "Export analysis report as pdf"from the top bar allows you to view and / or download the report obtained in pdf format which includes the entire document under analysis, with an indication of the matching blocks of the sources previously selected in the program.

The report concludes with a final table showing only the matching or similar text blocks of the compared documents, with the percentage of match detected in each of these blocks.

Any documents sent to the program are stored internally on the platform UPC as a permanent comparison source, which allows the PAS or PDI reviewer of the UPC view the textual blocks of documents already stored that match or are similar to those in new submissions.

The possible confidentiality of the stored documents is guaranteed since the reviewers of the UPC only matching texts can be displayed.
