Loan with prior reservation

Need a library book? These are the instructions for applying for the loan of documents with prior reservation.

Loan

  • Book the books you need from the Discovery "Book It" button:

  • When we have them ready, you will receive an email with instructions for coming to pick them up.
  • Do not come before receiving the notice. We cannot guarantee that the book is ready.
  • When you come to pick up the book, follow the instructions. Wear your mask and respect the safety distances.

Find the document you are interested in DiscoveryUPC, click the Book button and identify yourself with your username and password UPC.

If you need a document that you cannot book from the website, contact the library where is it.

We will prepare the documents you have reserved and send you an email with the instructions to come and collect them.

It is best to reserve books available at the library where you will pick them up.

You can reserve books from other libraries but the waiting time may be longer than usual.

You can book books that are on loan but given the health crisis situation, we cannot guarantee you when you will be able to have it.

Come to the library when you receive confirmation that you have the books ready. Never before. You must wear a mask and respect safety measures and distances.

Identify yourself and collect the documents. If you do not come within the indicated period, we will cancel the reservation.

Return of books on loan

If you have mobility problems arising from COVID-19, you must return books from the libraries of the UPC and you can't renew them, we'll pick them up at home. Check the conditions of the new one Home loan service.
Loans maturing before 14/11 automatically renewed to avoid unnecessary travel.

Check the return date of your loans in space My Account of DiscoveryUPC. If you need more time, you can renew them in this same space. If the system does not allow you to renew, contacts with us.

Yes. The consortium loan service is operational. However, due to compliance with the security measures applied due to COVID-19, the waiting times for documents requested by the PUC may be longer than usual.

Yes. You can continue to send requests for articles and book chapters to the Interlibrary Loan service. 

You can also order paper books, but due to compliance with the security measures applied due to COVID-19, the waiting times for the requested documents may be longer than usual.

Order items

The books we lend you have passed the established 48-hour quarantine and the library staff will attend to you following strict security measures established by the University. 

Remember that you must come with a mask and that you must always respect the safety distance.

Al DiscoveryUPC you will be able to see if a document is in quarantine. You can book it and we will let you know when it is available.
