In order to evaluate the scientific production, bibliometric indicators based on the number of citations received by articles and / or magazines are taken into account.
The National Agency for the Evaluation of Quality and Accreditationaims to contribute to the improvement of the quality of the educational system through the evaluation, certification and accreditation of teaching, teaching staff and institutions.
The following programs consider bibliometric indicators:
ANECA, through the Comisión Nacional Evaluadora de la Actividad Investigadora (CNEAI) evaluates the research activity of university professors and staff of the scientific scales of the public research bodies of the General Administration of the State, with the objective to be recognized as a productivity supplement (six years).
On December 22, 2023, it was published in the BOE

The Agency for the Quality of the University System of Catalonia, aims to evaluate, accredit and certify quality in the field of universities and higher education centers in Catalonia (education, teaching staff, centers and services).
On December 29, 2023, Resolution REU/4404/2023 of December 22 was published in the DOGC, which publishes the criteria for the evaluation of research activity.
The deadline for submitting applications is from January 15 to February 2, 2024, both inclusive.
