Index prepared by Professor Leo Egghe. It consists in ordering in descending order the articles produced by an investigator according to the number of citations received and elevate the order of the article to the square. This index gives more relevance to articles that have a high number of citations.

The G index corresponds to the last position in which the number of cumulative citations is equal to or greater than the square position.
