Reference managers

Activity addressed to PDI and PhDs from the UPC. For doctoral students, this workshop is part of the "Your doctoral thesis" itinerary. At the end of the workshop, participants will know:

  • What is a referral manager and how to use it.
  • The advantages of using a program to manage bibliographic references. 
  • The main functionalities of the Zotero and Mendeley programs. 

Content:

  1. Create a personal account and familiarize yourself with the work interface. 
  2. Incorporate references and documents from different options (databases, web pages, manual entry, other managers, ...). 
  3. Manage and organize references and documents (create folders, remove duplicates, tags, filters, ...).
  4. Reading and annotation of PDF documents.
  5. Insert citations and bibliographies in manuscripts in a particular bibliographic style. 
  6. Share references and documents with other users.​

L'ICE will issue a certificate of attendance to participants, provided they have previously registered through the established means (electronically through the web) and have been accepted.

The teaching staff, researchers and doctoral students of the UPC who participate in the activity, a few days after completion, will automatically have the information available in DRAC.
