Our specialization is the documents and information resources in the areas of naval engineering and civilian navy, designed to support the studies that are taught at the faculty.

- Consultation repository: the academic dissertations of all the degrees of the FNB can be located by means of the DiscoveryUPC . Electronic works, provided the author has authorized them, are accessible online at UPCommons. Pre-2009 works on paper can be consulted on site at the library and as they are not published works are excluded from loan.

In the library you will find magazines in paper and also electronic format. Paper includes magazines that have been received for years but are no longer received as well as magazines to which we still subscribe. In the Discovery UPC you can check these paper magazines, as well as the electronic journals.

We have a large number of IMO publications: regulations, codes, model course, etc. and we are subscribed to the database IMO Vega on the web, with all the regulations that affect the maritime world: regulations, agreements, protocols, resolutions, SOLAS, MARPOL, IMDG code, IAMSAR manuals, etc.

To access the database, you must request access credentials for FNB library staff.

If you want to look for what has been published in the paper journals that the library receives, consult BaDeMar. It is a database of bibliographic references specialized in nautical and maritime subjects.

The database Voyage Data is developed by Marine Traffic and offers information and tools related to ships (past, present and futur); access to ship positions for the last 30 days; possibility to open a window with a forecast of the futur, with access to ETA and route information.

Sea-Web is a database that includes all the information in the LLoyd's List and the characteristics of ships that acquire an IMO number again. It contains more than 600 data fields of more than 200.000 ships larger than 100 GT (detailed information on the ship, companies, builders, ports, accidents, etc.). The subscription includes the "Movements" module that allows you to consult all the stops of the last year in any port in the world.

With Enormous you can access the complete collection of UNE Standards, including ratified (adapted but not translated standards) and discontinued. The contents can be printed exclusively for internal use and copies cannot be archived or scanned. You need to validate yourself with your credentials UPC to be able to consult the database.

The collection "A sea of ​​games" of the Library of the Faculty of Nautical makes available to the community UPC a selection of board games, with nautical and marine themes of all kinds, with the aim of providing enjoyment in free time of leisure and entertainment.

We also have a small collection of role playing games.

 

You can access the documents of our old collection and the  Historical and equity fund, one of the most important in the field of nautical sciences.

The library has the Fund José Pérez del Río, professor and senior academic at the Official Nautical School (today Barcelona Nautical Faculty) where he entered as a student in 1924 and was later a professor and academic secretary.
