One of the requirements to apply for grants from funding institutions is the development of a data management plan. The data plan is the methodological document that describes the life cycle of the data collected, generated and processed during a research project and must specifically specify:
- What data will be obtained to carry out the research;
- How they will be collected and processed;
- What standards and what methodology will be followed;
- Who will be able to access the data;
- How they will be preserved when the search is complete
