Manuel Ribas i Piera (1925-2013) was a professor at the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB) from 1956 and professor of Urbanism from 1965 to 1990. Both he and his father were great bibliophiles members of the Barcelona Bibliophile Association. Throughout his life, he completed with new acquisitions the library he had inherited from his father, the architect Josep Maria Ribas i Casas (1899-1959). He has been a member of the Bibliophile Association since 1956.
In 2018, fulfilling their wish expressed during their lives, their children donated their books of architecture, town planning and landscaping, which increase the total assets of the School of Architecture of Barcelona and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya with a collection of great value.
The Manuel Ribas i Piera Collection, deposited in the Library of the Barcelona School of Architecture, consists of more than 750 titles published between the XNUMXth and the XNUMXth centuries.
