Instructions for the game Build 4 is

Build 4 is a board game that introduces participants to the world of construction. The main objective is to be the first player to complete a model-project, placing all the permits, licenses and studies necessary to complete it correctly.

Number of players

The game is designed for a minimum of two and a maximum of four players. Each participant has a token and moves around the board according to the result of a dice roll.

Game development

The game begins when one of the players rolls a six. He receives a model-project and starts the game. The other participants roll to establish the order of play.

The board consists of 42 squares. In each square you can get different types of cards: construction cards (blue), permits, licenses and studies cards (yellow), incident or special cards (red). The type of card you can get depends on the color of the square you land on.

When a player lands on a square, he draws a card of the corresponding color and places it visible in front of him. If the card is a yellow card, it must be clear which construction phase it is assigned to.

Types of cards

  • Blue cards: correspond to the construction phases of a project. There are five: foundation, structure, roof and enclosures, installations, and finishes.
  • Yellow cards: These are permits, licenses and studies. There are nine in total and you must obtain them all to win.
  • Red cards: represent incidents or special situations, such as the appearance of an inspector or the “superpelata” card.

General rules

If a player lands on a square occupied by another player, they can steal a card from that player.

If a player rolls a 1 for three consecutive turns, they must return to the starting square and cannot draw cards during the next turn.

If two players match on the same square, only the first can play normally; the second can take a professional card if he wants.

If three tiles match, the third player cannot play the turn.

Cards must be returned to the pile when used or if repeated, except in the case of professional and license cards, which can be negotiated between players.

The “superpelata” letter replaces any professional in a specific construction phase.

If the inspector letter appears, you must have the letter required for the phase in which the project is located, or follow the instructions indicated.

game over

The first player to place the nine yellow cards corresponding to each construction phase on the front of their model wins the game. These cards are:

Security element

  • Security plan
  • Municipal license
  • Habitability certificate or activity license
  • Geotechnical study
  • Quality control certificate
  • Final work certificate
  • Ten-year insurance
  • Workbook

Incident resolution

Any conflict, doubt or special situation that is not provided for in these rules must be resolved by consensus between the players, in a fair and democratic manner.

Basic version of the game

There is a simplified version in which each player starts with all the cards needed for the construction phases (blue) and must obtain only the yellow cards. The general dynamics of the game remain according to the rules described.

Goal of the game

Get the most points by collecting sticks without moving the rest.

Materials

41 sticks (or drawn lines, if it's a digital version).

Each stick has a different value depending on the color.

Prepared

Gather all the sticks in your hand.

Let them fall randomly on the table, so that they mix and become crossed.

How to play

1. The first player tries to remove a stick without moving any others.

2. If he succeeds, he keeps the stick and can continue playing.

3. If any move:

  • Your turn is over.
  • The turn passes to the next player.

4. The game continues until there are no sticks left on the table.

5. End of the game

Each player adds up the points from the sticks they have collected.
Whoever accumulates the most total points wins.

Alone or in pairs? You choose!

Strategic thinking and global vision
Attention, concentration and perseverance
Adaptability and uncertainty management
Self-awareness and emotional control

Goal of the game

Control more territory than the opponent at the end of the game.
Territory is defined as the intersections of the board that a player completely surrounds with their stones.

Materials

A square board with crossed lines (the most common is 19×19, but 9×9 and 13×13 also exist).

Black and white stones:

Black always starts.

Each player has an unlimited number of stones.

Prepared

Place the board in the center.

Decide who will play with black and who with white.

The stones are not placed inside the squares, but at the intersections of the lines.

How to play

1 Game turn

Each player, in turn, places a single stone of their color on an empty intersection.

The stones cannot be moved once placed.

2 Connections and groups

Stones connected vertically and horizontally form a group.

A group shares breaths (adjacent empty spaces).

3 Stone capture

A stone or group is captured when it has no breaths left.

It is removed from the board immediately and passed to the player who captured it.

4 Self-capture prohibition

A stone cannot be placed in a position where it or its group would run out of breaths, unless this move captures enemy stones and the group regains breaths.

5 Ko Rule

To avoid infinite repetitions:

You cannot make a move that reproduces exactly the same position that existed one turn earlier.
This forces a change in strategy and avoids cycles.

6. End of the game

The game ends when both players pass consecutively, that is, they decide not to place any more stones.

How is it scored?

Each player adds:

Territory: empty intersections completely surrounded by their color.

Captures: opponent's stones removed during the game.

Komi (only in formal games):

White receives additional points (usually 6,5) to compensate for Black's start.

Whoever has the most total points wins.

Recommendations for beginners

Start on 9×9 boards to understand captures and connections.

Prioritize creating groups with two “ways of life” (two protected areas).

Avoid long battles until you master basic forms.

Keep calm: Go is strategic and requires time-based thinking.

Goal

Reach, with one of your pieces, the opposite triangle of the board —or place them all there— before the other players do the same.

Materials

A board shaped like a six-pointed star (usually for 2-6 players).

A set of pieces of one color for each player.

Prepared

Each player chooses a color and places all of their pieces in the triangle on the board corresponding to their color.

Decide the order of play (for example, clockwise).

How to play

1. On your turn, you can move a piece following one of two options:

2. Move the piece to a free adjacent intersection (simple movement).

3. Jump onto a piece (yours or another's) that is adjacent and has a free intersection in front of it, in a straight line (long-range jump). Multiple jumps can be made in a single turn if desired and possible.

4. Jumping is only possible over an adjacent piece and with a free space immediately after it.

Important rules

  • Diagonal jumps are not allowed: jumps must be in a straight line.
  • Simple movement can only advance to an adjacent intersection; it cannot jump or move more than one space.
  • Jumps can be chained: if a piece has a jump available, it can continue from there on the same turn, as long as each jump follows the conditions.

End of the game

The game ends when a player manages to place all of their pieces in the opposite triangle (or according to the agreed rule) or becomes the first to do so.

This player is the winner. The others can follow if they want to sort the entire ranking.

Basically useful strategies

  • Plan routes that allow you to pass through the center of the board or use other players' pieces as "platforms" to make jumps.
  • Prioritize advancing in blocks: move a piece towards the center and then take advantage of it to make multiple jumps.
  • Avoid leaving your base too exposed if other players can jump over your pieces
