New agreements and more APCs for 2023

What are transformative agreements and how to make use of APCs?

These are journal subscription agreements between publishers and universities or consortia that include a certain number of Article Processing Charges (APC) for publishing articles in immediate open access.

During the process of accepting an article, when the corresponding author indicates that he/she wants to publish in open access, the publisher contacts the Library, Publications and Archives Service, which checks that all the requirements are met.

For articles published in 2023, the allocation criteria are, inclusively:

- Binding UPC
- Affiliation UPC
- ORCID code
- Link to research group UPC

These criteria will be reviewed in June 2023, depending on the APCs still available.
