Student Use and Satisfaction Survey of Libraries (2022)

In March 2022 students of the UPC participated in a survey to assess their degree of satisfaction with the libraries.

We obtained more than 3.800 answers, especially for undergraduates from all campuses, which represents an increase of 15% compared to the previous edition of the survey.

We are very pleased with the high participation and because the overall satisfaction ratio has been 5'04 over 6.

Infographic on the results of the 2022/2023 satisfaction survey

Consult the infographic-summary.

We would like to point out that:

  • The 88% of the students surveyed go to the library and the 62% queries the web.
  • The overall satisfaction score is 5,04 out of 6 and increases by 0 compared to the previous edition.
  • The most highly rated aspects were the attention of the staff (5.24 out of 6), the loan of books (5 out of 22) and the online management (6 out of 5,11).
  • The least valued is the amount and updating of computers (4,18 out of 6), the number of notes and other teaching materials available (4,43 out of 6) and exams (4,58 out of 6).

One of our strengths is the people who work in libraries, the vocation of service and the commitment with the users.

The results also tell us that we need to improve some aspects: students want longer opening hours, better equipment and more comfortable spaces. They also want us to make it easier for them to access information, especially notes and other teaching materials, and above all, exams.

We appreciate all the comments that help us to continue improving and we offer all the facilities to continue receiving your suggestions.
