THE TERRASSA CAMPUS SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION 2024

The scientific production of the Terrassa Campus 2024

This page lists the most relevant data in the report Indexed articles published by researchers at the Terrassa Campus: 2024 available at UPCommons. This report has been prepared from the publications included in the Web of Science database (methodological note).

In 2024, 312 articles were published in journals indexed in the JCR. All articles can be consulted atreport .

The evolution shows how, since 2008, there has been a continuous increase in the number of indexed articles until 2015. It went from 126 to 284 published articles. After two years in which the number of publications decreased, from 2018 there was a considerable increase until 2021, when the number of articles decreased again. However, the decrease has not been very significant and a certain stagnation is observed.

Evolution

Of the total articles indexed in 2024, 297 (95,2%) can be consulted in open access. They are distributed as follows:

Open access

Greenway

74
Golden way 123

Hybrid route

100

Closed access

15

Under the gold route we find 123 articles that have been published in open access magazines. Under the greenway we find 74 articles that have been deposited in UPCommons and that they will be available in open access respecting the conditions of the journals (version of the article and appropriate embargo period). In addition, there are 100 articles published openly in hybrid journals.

The increase in open access articles from hybrid journals continues, going from 42 to 100 articles in three years, as a result of the consolidation of the transformative agreements signed by the UPC with some scientific publishers.

In 2024, 313 researchers from the Terrassa Campus appeared in one or more articles indexed in the JCR. All authors can be consulted atreport .

The evolution shows how, since 2010, there has been an irregular annual increase in the number of authors with the exception of the years 2013, 2017, 2020 and 2023. In the last year, 28 fewer authors appear than in 2023.

Of these 313 authors, there are 8 who published 8 or more articles indexed in 2023: Quintanilla De Latorre, Ramon (21 articles), Tzanov, Tzanko (11 articles), Riba Ruiz, Jordi Roger (9 articles), Healthy Clays, Frame (8 articles), Lis Arias, Manuel Jose (8 articles), Millan Garcia Varela, Maria Sagrario (8 articles), Puig Mountain, Juan (8 articles) and Pujadas Alvarez, Pablo (8 articles).

  • Each node is dedicated to an author who has published on the subject discussed in this survey. The edges indicate the number of documents co-authored by the aforementioned authors. The blue nodes identify the authors linked to the Terrassa Campus.
  • This map includes researchers who have written at least one post.
  • Due to the fact that documents with more than 50 authors make it impossible to create the next interactive map, these articles have been removed to draw the graph.
  • Once the map is opened, consult the instructions for use to make the most of the possibilities it offers.

The standardized impact is calculated by comparing the citations received by the indexed articles of the Terrassa Campus in a specific area with the world average of the same thematic area. It allows us to compare, therefore, the impact of articles from different thematic areas.

Data for the world has been narrowed down to ESI (Essential Science Indicators). This tool shows statistics that allow you to study trends in scientific research. It divides knowledge into 22 research areas. Each journal is assigned to one of these areas. More information>>.

To make this report, the 10 categories ESI present in 10 or more articles on the Campus of Terrassa published in 2024 have been considered:

ESI provides the global average of citations received during a specific year for each research area (ESI citation rate). The comparison between the average of citations received in WoS for the Terrassa Campus articles and the global average will give us the normalized impact:

Keep in mind that the same article may be in more than one Web of Science research area.

Appointments received in WoS were narrowed down on 23.12.2025.

The corresponding ESI citation rates have been tightened to 13.11.2025.

Altmetrics have very often been presented as alternative metrics to those traditionally used, such as the journal impact factor and personal citation indices such as the h-index. The altmetrics of an article go beyond its number of citations, they cover other aspects of its impact, such as the number of databases and knowledge bases that refer to it, its views, its downloads, or its mentions in social media and news media.

To make this report we used the Altmetric Attention Score (Altmetric.com). It is a composite indicator (weighted average of heterogeneous measures and sources) that wants to measure the attention received on the Internet and is used both for UPCommons as for FUTUR.

Of the 312 indexed articles, these are the 9 articles with a “Altmetric” value higher than 10 on 23.12.2025:

>Methodological note

This report has been prepared based on the publications included in the Web of Science database.

This resource collects the articles of researchers of the Campus of Terrassa of the UPC that meet the following conditions:
- Have been published during the year 2024.
- The authors sign as researchers from the Terrassa Campus of the UPC or one of their schools.
- Belong to a journal indexed in the JCR (Journal Citation Reports) in the 2025 edition.

The results obtained have been treated with a reference manager (Zotero) for the presentation of the bibliography.

The different reports presented in this resource have been generated from the application of the options "Analyze Results" and "Create Citation Report" to the results obtained.

For each Campus author, a link has been added to the researcher's file FUTUR: Portal of the Scientific Production of the researchers of the UPC. For each article, a link to the DOI of the publication has been added, whenever possible.

The lack of an article in this collection may be due to one of these reasons:

  • Articles that have not been incorporated into the Web of Science (ISI) database.
  • Articles in which the mention of the Terrassa Campus does not appear in the signature of the authors.
  • Errors in indexing in the database.

If you have any fault or failure, you can contact biblioteca.campus.terrassa@upc.edu
