La Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya has defined the competition “Critical and responsible use of information” as the ability to acquire the skills to identify, discriminate, plan, communicate and organize information, respecting copyright. In a context marked by artificial intelligence and information overload, it is essential to develop this competence to guarantee the production of academic work done with rigor and following ethical values and principles.
La UPC School together with the Library Service, they offer a Learning Capsule in the Critical and Responsible Use of Information where students will learn the importance of searching for, accessing and managing information efficiently in various formats and media, as well as analyzing and evaluating the reliability of the information retrieved, identifying the most appropriate sources and means to guarantee its veracity.
Who is it aimed at? Undergraduate and master's degree students from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
Credits: 2 ECTS (20 teaching hours)

Methodology: Each session includes a theoretical presentation and discussion of different cases. Debates will be held in small groups and with the entire class. Real or hypothetical situations are presented in which students, in a fully participatory and practical way, analyze the situation, pose different hypotheses and share their own conclusions.
