We have updated the Biblioguia How to cite and compile bibliographies to adapt it to the new version of the ISO 690:2024 citation style, a major change that directly affects the way you cite and reference documents in academic papers, TFG/TFM and research projects. The goal is to continue to have a clear, reliable and easy-to-use guide, despite the fact that the new standard is much more extensive and complex than the previous one.
what changes
- Much more expanded content — The section on how to reference each type of document now includes more than 50 typologies with concrete examplesThis will make it easier for you to cite formats that were not previously covered.
- New document types — Examples are included for Social Networks, research data, audiovisuals i unpublished documents (TFE, interviews, etc.).
- Clearer general guidelines — We have added a section summarizing the essential criteria of the standard so that you can quickly understand “how” ISO 690 thinks and apply it consistently.
- Availability of the style in Catalan — You can now select ISO 690 (Catalan) directly in Mendeley or Zotero, which greatly simplifies the automatic generation of quotes.
- Join citation systems — The standard allows author-date, numeric and tag. In the bibliography guide we explain the most common ones so that you can choose wisely.
And remember that you too we offer courses to learn how to cite, create bibliographies, avoid plagiarism and use reference management programs.
