El objetivo pues de este proyecto se basa en la producción de estas nuevas series a partir de tres indicadores tradicionales, éstos son: -Índice de Comercio al Por Menor General -Índice de Comercio al Por Menor Sin Estaciones de Servicio -Indice de comercio de grandes superficies . Actualment, l¿Idescat elabora indicadors d¿activitat i de producció del sector serveis, indicadors del comerç al detall i indicadors d¿ocupació en hotels, càmpings i turisme rural, i de rendibilitat hotelera. Title: Valorization of brines in the chlor-alkaly industry using membrane technology Authors: Gasulla Casamajó, Neus Abstract: In this master thesis, the reuse Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWD-RO) brine extracted from the El Prat Desalination plant was studied and valorised, in order to assess the possible usage in the chlor-alkali industry. The brine was chemically characterized using different analytical methods adapted to the high salinities of the samples. Experiments were carried out in order to study nanofiltration for brine purification and electrodialysis for brines concentration. Moreover, as free chlorine was obtained in the ED anode chamber due to the current passing the cell, the production of hypochlorite from this stream using membrane contactors was studied in order to reuse this by-product. Electrodialysis demonstrated to be a feasible technology for SWD-RO brine concentration, as it concentrated the brine and at the same time produced some useful by-products that were further valorised. Nanofiltration efficiently removed polyvalent ions from studied brine. Nevertheless, brine compositions obtained after both treatments were not enough to meet the membrane electrolysis requirements. A secondary treatment will be required to polish the brines to reach the ppb levels required. Hypochlorite produced using a liquid-gas membrane contactor for disinfection purposes of potable water was obtained. However, some modifications should be done to the system in order to improve the overall efficiency of the process. Finally, a mathematical model to predict the concentration performance and design future experiments was developed and validated with the results obtained in the pilot plant.

Title: Benchmarking on web technologies and a recommender system development for E-commerce Authors: De Oliveira Paegle, Anna Carolina Abstract: Internet has opened a window enabling retailers to sell to anyone, anywhere and at any time. E-commerce has completely changed the way of doing business and in this context appeared the “daily deals” or “group buying” web pages: a business model which attracts millions of customers through the online sale of experiences – like a dinner or a trip – or products with a high percentage of discount, possible due to the great number of buyers. Motivated by this context of growth, in this project a benchmarking on web functionalities is done for the main group buying web pages and some general electronic marketplaces. As a result of this benchmarking a web functionality is chosen to be analyzed and developed for an e-commerce deals web: recommender systems. This leads to a second part of this project, where the main techniques to implement a recommendation system are studied and then used to generate a proof of concept for a recommender engine to work in a group buying web environment. The goal of using a recommendation system in this environment is to make the right information arrive to the right costumers. Recommender systems are valuable both for users and businesses. From a consumer perspective, they may help the users to manage the information overload of the e-commerce world. From a corporate point of view, they may contribute to the cross-sell and upsell of products. In this project, an item-based collaborative filtering approach is used to generate the recommender engine for the group buying web environment. After the model is designed, a proof of concept focused in the recommender core is implemented. At the end, some evaluation techniques for the recommender system are described.

Title: uPyxis, a real-time geolocated information network Authors: Carenys Roca, Antoni Abstract: In recent years thanks to the increase of the use of internet by people from around the world, are appearing a lot of social networking services which are changing and evolving the way of communicating and interacting with the world and among people. Apart from the field of friends, these new social networking services are trying to explode new areas as professionals, sharing pictures or messaging. In addition, with the widespread use of smartphones, many of these networks are beginning to include geolocation services, and also are springing some new networks that are based only on geolocation. This project seeks to create a new service currently not offered, based on the use of the capabilities of current smartphones such as geolocation, the instant internet access, and the ability of people to be sensors of their environment. This new service is focused on provided a useful service to curious people who want to know at all times what is happening near them, to people who do not know what activities to do at a given time, and to people that want to announce some events, incidents or activities that they see on some place. To achieve this, it was designed, developed and tested a social network service based on the announce and location of activities and events happening right now around a user and that have a short duration. This service is based on three main basic pillars, information about events or activities, real time, and geolocation. The service will be used from a website and from an Android smartphone, which also will use databases and a webservice that will be on the server. In its realization have been studies and used various technologies like Java, PHP, MySQL, SQLite, Javascript and JQuery.; Català: En els últims anys, gràcies al augment de l’ús d’internet per part de persones de tot el món, estan apareixent varis serveis de xarxes socials, els quals estan canviant la forma de comunicar-se i de interactuar amb el món i entre les persones. A part dels camps d’amistats, aquestes nous serveis estan intentant explotar noves àrees com les professionals, la compartició d’imatges, o els missatges. A més, amb la popularització de l’ús dels smartphones, moltes d’aquestes xarxes comencen a incloure serveis de geolocalització, y també estan naixen noves xarxes basades exclusivament en la geolocalització. Aquest projecte busca crear un nou servei que actualment no s’ofereix, a partir de l’ús de les capacitats dels smartphones actuals com son la geolocalització, la instantaneïtat graciés a l’accés a internet, i a la capacitat de les persones de ser sensors del seu entorn. Aquest nou servei, esta centrat en proveir d’un servei útil per a persones curioses que volen conèixer en tot moment tot el que està passant al seu voltant, per a persones que no saben quines activitats realitzar en un moment donat, y per a persones que volen anunciar esdeveniments, activitats o incidents que veuen en un lloc concret. Per aconseguir això, s’ha dissenyat, desenvolupat y provat un servei de xarxa social basat en l’anunciament y cerca d’activitats y esdeveniments que passen ara mateix al voltant dels usuaris y que tenen una curta durada. Aquest servei esta basat en tres pilars basics, informació d’esdeveniments y activitats, temps real y geolocalització. Aquest servei serà usat des d’una plana web y un Smartphone Android, i farà servir bases de dades y un webservice en el servidor. En la seva realització s’han estudiat i fet servir varies tecnologies com Java, PHP, MySQL, SQLIte, Javascript o JQuery.

Title: Estudio de la resistencia al desgaste y microrayado de recubrimientos para lentes oftálmicas Authors: Vicente Kozhushko, Anna Abstract: Una lente oftálmica es un sistema complejo compuesto por materiales orgánicos e inorgánicos, cuya respuesta mecánica es difícil de predecir. El daño superficial generalmente es producido por la abrasión de partículas duras durante la limpieza y el manejo de las lentes. La industria oftálmica lleva a cabo ensayos abrasivos que permitan estimar su vida útil, tanto ensayos de laboratorio como test de usuario. Sin embargo, los mecanismos de daño generados por estos ensayos no se correlacionan fácilmente con el daño sufrido por las lentes en servicio. El ensayo de rayado instrumentado es comúnmente presentado como alternativa para caracterizar la respuesta mecánica de la lente y los recubrimientos, gracias a la posibilidad de modificar fácilmente una o varias variables del ensayo a la vez. El objetivo de este trabajo es caracterizar el daño superficial inducido en los ensayos de laboratorio comúnmente usados en la industria oftálmica y el test de usuario y correlacionar los resultados de los diferentes ensayos entre sí y con los resultados de los ensayos de rayado instrumentado. En este trabajo se han analizado 5 recubrimientos duros (HC) diferentes sobre lentes de mismo material y con el mismo recubrimiento antirreflectante (AR). Se han obtenido las propiedades mecánicas de HC mediante técnicas de nanoindentación. Todas las muestras han sido sometidas a ensayos de la industria oftálmica y de rayado instrumentado. Dos de las muestras han sido sometidas a test de usuario. El daño superficial inducido en los ensayos de la industria oftálmica y el test de usuario ha sido analizado mediante microscopía óptica confocal y medidas de dispersión óptica. De los ensayos de rayado instrumentado se han obtenido la dureza de rayado y la profundidad de rayado residual. Se ha encontrado que, exceptuando la muestra LK2A, existe una relación lineal entre el cociente H/E (obtenidos para recubrimientos antirayado) y los valores de % Haze. De los ensayos de INDO, se ha visto que el ensayo Bayer es el que mayor daño superficial produce. De los tres ensayos se deduce el mismo resultado: LB1A y LA1A son el sistema de recubrimientos que mejor protege la lente orgánica. Para los ensayos de laboratorio, tanto los de INDO como los de micro y nanorayado instrumentado, se ha encontrado que las muestras LK1D y LB1D son las que mejor protegen el sustrato de las muestras con HC. Para las muestras con HC y AR, son las muestras LK1A y LA1A las que satisfacen los requisitos impuestos. Analizadas las lentes sometidas al test de usuario y obtenidas las distribuciones de daño superficial provocado, se ha visto que LK1A presenta mayor daño superficial. Por otro lado, vistas las distribuciones de profundidades para todas las muestras del test de usuario, puede decirse que, de los tres ensayos, el ensayo Steel Wool es el que da una distribución de profundidades similar a la obtenida de las lentes del test de usuario, indicando así que mediante este ensayo se reproduce el daño superficial generado en la lente en su uso real.

Sóc de l’EETAC: desenvolupament d’una aplicació per a iPhone i Android

Title: Sóc de l’EETAC: desenvolupament d’una aplicació per a iPhone i Android Authors: Amadó Medina, Joan Marc; Martínez Alcón, Andreu Abstract: Cada dia és més habitual veure la gent utilitzant telèfons intel·ligents per accedir a diferents serveis, desplaçant l’ús dels ordinadors en favor dels telèfons mòbils. En aquest escenari, l’aplicació desenvolupada en aquest TFC, “Sóc de l’EETAC”, permet donar un determinat conjunt de serveis i mecanismes per mantenir un vincle entre els estudiants, els antics alumnes i la seva Escola, l’Escola d’Enginyeria de Telecomunicació i Aeroespacial de Castelldefels, com ara el servei de missatgeria i localització. Aquests serveis s’entrellacen amb les xarxes socials, especialment amb LinkedIn i Twitter. A part de mantenir el contacte, un dels objectius d’aquest TFC és proporcionar una eina per donar a conèixer l’Escola a la gent que pugui estar interessada en estudiar-hi, per exemple oferint informació estadística sobre el nombres de titulats o els lloc de treball que ocupen. L’aplicació disposa dels canals d’informació habituals de l’Escola, tant els canals de les seves pàgines web, com els canals a través de les xarxes social. També disposa d’un conjunt de dades informatives sobre els alumnes, educació i món laboral de l’Escola. Tampoc hi falten els principals serveis interns de les intranets de l’Escola. A part dels ja mencionats serveis de missatgeria i localització per a estudiants i titulats. L’aplicació “Sóc de l’EETAC” ha estat desenvolupada per al dispositiu mòbil iPhone i per als telèfons amb Android.; English: Each day is more common to see people using smart phones in order to access to different services, displacing the use of computers in favour of mobile phones. The application "I’m from EETAC" allows give to the students and ex-students of the Castelldefels School of Telecommunications and Aerospace Engineering, a certain pack of services. These services are intertwined with social networks, especially with LinkedIn and Twitter. In addition of keeping the contact, one of the objectives of this TFC is to give a tool in order to introduce the School to people who can be interested in studying on it, for example, giving statistical information about the number of graduates and their actual jobs. The application has the usual information channels of the school: the channels of their web pages and the channels through social networks. It also has a set of informative data about students, education and the school labour world. Are also included the main internal intranet services of the school. As well as the messenger and locating students and graduates system mentioned before. The Application "I’m from EETAC" has been developed for iPhone mobile device and for Android phones.

Wave energy in Italian seas: preliminar design of a point absorber

Title: Wave energy in Italian seas: preliminar design of a point absorber Authors: Moreno Miquel, Adrià Abstract: It was in the mid 1970s when the research in the Wave Energy Converters began as a consolidated field, but it wasn’t until between the late 1990s and the beginnings of the 21st century that the sector boomed. Unlike many other renewable energy forms, the wave energy can be considered as a teenager, almost ready to show the world its enormous potential. Many prototypes are being tested throughout the oceans and even a commercial wave energy plant has been set already. Its growth is being unbalanced though. There are no current and prospective research studies with this scope for the Mediterranean Sea, it seems logical so the Mediterranean Sea is one of the least energetic seas in the world but this doesn’t exclude the fact that also in the Mediterranean Sea there is wave energy to be exploited and the purpose of this work is to initiate that path. The point absorber is the type of Wave Energy Converter chosen, it consists of a floating body that exploiting the motion produced by an incident wave generates electricity via an electric linear generator. Several simulations have been done with different kinds of buoys in two different locations in the Mediterranean Sea, Alghero and Mazara. The simulation’s goal is to compute the output power of the devices. Although the values state that the average extracted energy is of minor entity than the ones tested in big oceans such as the Atlantic Ocean or the Pacific Ocean, where the wave energetic regime is much higher, the results are hopeful, confirming its feasibility and opening a new door to renewable energies in the Mediterranean regions. The conclusions drawn in this work are always under the bases that there is still a lot of work to do and a full sea of possibilities.

Title: Estudi del potencial tèrmic d’una central tèrmica de biomassa Authors: Rotllan Puig, Marc Abstract: En aquest projecte s’estudia la viabilitat de l’aprofitament de l’energia tèrmica que es generarà a la futura central de gasificació de biomassa d’1MW situada a l’Alt Berguedà. Aquesta viabilitat és bàsicament tècnica i consisteix en relacionar de la manera més adequada possible l’oferta de calor de la central tèrmica amb la demanda existent. El primer gran bloc del treball consisteix en un estudi de les tecnologies en matèria de cogeneració a partir de la biomassa i les formes en què es presenta l’energia tèrmica en aquestes instal·lacions. Tot seguit s’ha confeccionat un dimensionament de la central a partir de la biomassa disponible en els boscos pertanyents a diverses Administracions públiques de l’Alt Berguedà que en seran les propietàries. La finalitat d’aquest punt és conèixer el potencial tèrmic de la futura planta que es xifra en 1,24 MW tèrmics. Un cop definida l’oferta d’energia, s’analitzen diverses alternatives d’aprofitament tèrmic entre les què destaca, degut a la seva importància, la d’una empresa agroalimentària de la comarca. A partir d’aquesta s’ha realitzat un anàlisi de viabilitat tècnica d’adaptació de la central elèctrica a planta de cogeneració, gràcies a la valorització de l’energia tèrmica de l’aigua de refrigeració del motor i dels gasos d’escapament per convertir-los en energia útil per suplir una demanda justificada d’energia que d’altra manera es consumiria a partir de combustibles d’origen no renovable. En els darrers punts s’observa que l’aprofitament de la potència tèrmica de la central és viable econòmica (retorn de la inversió el primer any) i ambientalment (es deixen d’emetre 1529 tCO2/any). La utilització de la potència tèrmica de la central és un fet gairebé de sentit comú ja que es disposa d’una central que per una banda genera 1 MW elèctric i per altra banda té un potencial tèrmic d’1,24 MW. Així doncs, encara que la generació tèrmica sigui més senzilla i barata que l’elèctrica, això no vol dir que es menystingui una quantitat de potència tan gran. Cal dir, que una part d’aquesta (770 kW) és a baixa temperatura (entre 76 i 88ºC), però la resta (471 kW) permetria assolir temperatures pròximes als 125ºC. Es conclou que si finalment es portés a terme la central tèrmica de gasificació de biomassa, el fet d’adaptar la instal·lació a la cogeneració no suposaria un increment notable en la inversió inicial i, en canvi, reportaria uns beneficis que augmentarien considerablement la rendibilitat de la planta de gasificació de biomassa.

Title: aPossibilities of rural electrification in the brazilian Amazon: a multi criteria analysis to compare the most promising technological solutions Authors: Fuso Nerini, Francesco Abstract: More than 20% of the world population still does not have access to electricity, approximately 1.411 billion people (IEA, 2011). Brazil represents a facet of this reality: electricity access has been recognized as a citizen right, and thanks to the program Luz Para Todos (Light for all) approximately 14 million people have received electricity access since 2003 in the country (ANEEL, 2010). However, further extension of the interconnected grid is no longer an option in the Amazon region, due to the long distances that need to be covered and a very difficult topography. There is a need for a new delivery model in which the demand-­??side is privileged and decentralized solutions based on local renewable resources are well investigated. (Go?mez and Silveira, 2012). More than 700.000 households still have to be served in Brazil with an off-­??grid connection, most of those in the north of the country (ANEEL 2011). In addition, most of the local grids are unsustainably fuelled with Diesel fuel. Diesel generators (DG) are cheaper than renewable solutions in the short term but their operation is costly: The cost of diesel for isolated communities, once the transportation costs are considered, may be two or three times higher than prices charged at gas stations (Silva et al., 2010). This study explores the possibility of integrating renewable energy in the Amazon region, both for new installations and for hybridization of the existing diesel generators. For doing that a multi criteria analysis have been developed, to explore all the main aspects that should influence aware decisions among the various systems that can provide Energy services to rural populations in the Amazon. Economic, technologic, environmental, social and institutional factors are explored. With this methodology for each system compared the main positive and negative aspects for providing energy services to rural communities with a determined system are studied and commented. DG solutions, considered as benchmark, are compared with hybrid diesel systems (DG + PV), and with renewable systems chosen for their potential in the area (PV, Micro Hydro Installations and Biomass systems). The methodology and the conclusions are especially targeted to help decision makers in the region to make more informed choices, with the possibility of looking at a variety of different parameters during the decision process.

Title: Development of monitoring and automatic fault detection solutions for grid-connected photovoltaic systems Authors: Capogna, Vicenzo Abstract: In this Final Thesis work, the development of a new monitoring and automatic fault detection system for grid-connected photovoltaic systems is presented and described in its details. This product has been developed in JavaScript and HTLM protocols and it allow real time an online performance monitoring and comparison together with fault detection and causes diagnosis. The presented solution is focus on the DC side of the PV system and it includes: a simple and effective simulation model (based on the calculation normalized energy yield from the environmental irradiance and the module temperature evolution), a real time monitoring and supervision tool (based on the comparison between simulated and actual power production) and an innovative fault detection system (based on the analysis of the miscellaneous capture losses, the fault signal frequency and two indicators). The two indicators used to distinguish among the most common faults are: the ratio between maximum power point current and the short circuit one, and the ratio between maximum power point voltage and the open circuit one. An intuitive and user friendly visual interface has also been created as an on-line web page to allow the power plant operator an easy and prompt supervision of the behavior of multiple PV plants. The developed solution has been successfully test on an actual grid-connected PV system in real and faulty operation conditions.

Title: Development of an energy system operation planning tool considering transmission system effects and operational constraints Authors: Abeysekera, Muditha Abstract: This study presents a small scale energy system modelling tool which can be used to plan a secure and economical hourly generation schedule, for a day ahead commitment process in a power system with conventional and wind generation units. The problem solves a unit commitment problem (UC) with operational and transmission system constraints. Simple energy balances or UC solutions obtained without considering power flow constraints are not practical due to secure operation of the power network. With the increasing inclusion of wind generators and other renewable generation, line flows can be altered that may lead to expensive schedules and may not be even feasible at worst. Thus the need for a modelling tool in this context is apparent. The unit commitment problem is formulated to run the optimal power flow dispatch as an integral part of the solution. A forward dynamic programming approach is used to solve for the unit commitment optimization. The unit commitment model is validated using a standard text book case study and the optimal power flow solution using „MatPOWER?, a tool for power flow analysis. A case study is carried out on the island of Corvo in Azores-Portugal to analyse an existing power network operation along with its future expansion plans in wind power integration. The results are compared with the actual data from Corvo and a HOMER simulation of the same. The algorithms are implemented through a Matlab simulation environment, and the results obtained are quite encouraging. The unit commitment solution was developed in collaboration with a colleague, Abhishek Shivakumar who is working on developing a demand response algorithm in alignment with the larger scope of the same project.

Title: Optimal Speed Profiles for Passenger Cars Authors: Llamas Comellas, Xavier Abstract: Fuel consumption in passenger vehicles has become more important due to the significant increase of fuel cost and the awareness of the environmental impact. Thus finding optimal speed profiles and gear shift strategies to cover a distance in order to decrease fuel consumption is an important issue. The optimization problem is presented and solved by means of dynamic programming and using a quasistatic vehicle model approach. Different models are presented in order to solve the problem with different assumptions. For one model it is assumed an instantaneous gear shift maneuver and for another model the gear shift maneuver requires a certain time to be done. For this second model, the influence of taking into account a realistic way to compute the losses during a gear shift maneuver is also developed and studied. Comparing the results provided by the two models, this method to compute the gear shift losses in the optimization problem has influence in the optimal speed profiles compared to the models that do not take into account losses during the gear shift. There are two engine models used in this project, a Willans approximation engine model and a map based engine model. The differences between the results from each engine model are explained and illustrated. Moreover, the influence of the trip length is studied, stating that without a time constraint it has no influence on the results. This investigation highlights the importance of selecting a suitable discretization. A smart choice of the discretization is explained in order to have the coasting solution achievable in the deceleration phase. In order to study the results in different road situations, the optimization problem is solved by changing the road topology. It is stated like in previous research papers that keeping constant speed to drive through a hill is optimal, if no braking is required to maintain constant speed. Finally some vehicle parameters are changed in order to observe its sensitivity on the optimization results. Results for several vehicle masses and engine sizes are illustrated and compared between them. Regarding the engine size it is shown that it has a significant influence on the fuel consumption as well as on the driving mission.

Title: Solutions for Scaling up the Adoption of Solar Lighting in Sub-Saharan Africa: Focus on the Financial Barriers Authors: Appleyard, Eduardo Maria Abstract: The primary purpose of this thesis was to identify practical solutions for scaling up the adoption of solar lighting products in Africa. This work was conducted in the context of a consultancy contract for SolarAid/SunnyMoney - East Africa’s only product neutral distributor and specialised retailer of solar lighting products. The focus of the work was on the issue of access to finance from a consumer’s perspective: An off-grid household in rural Africa may spend large sums on kerosene on a daily basis but would struggle to collect the sum necessary for the purchase of a quality solar light. The main obstacle to making the switch to solar lighting is the high upfront cost required. This highlights the need for end-user finance solutions to enable low-income households to purchase a solar light. An analysis of the commercially available fee-for-service solutions was conducted: The most prominent solutions, such as MKopa, Simpa Networks and Azuri technologies, were found to use pay-as-you-go technology and mobile money as the basis of a rent-to-own service. The main finding from this analysis was that such distribution models are more akin to the modus operandi of a service provider (a power utility) or a financial institution than that of a product retailer: The relationship with the costumer extends for 12 to 36 months and investments are recovered over an extended period of time. In search of ways of implementing a rent-to-own model that was more in phase with the strategy and needs of SolarAid/SunnyMoney, a set of trials were conducted in Western Kenya. The first of these trials aimed to sell and entry-level product in 4 instalments. The initial response to this rent-to-own scheme was outstanding, as 115 out of the 180 parents reached during the trial (or almost 65%) expressed their interest. After one week, 75% of the 421 selected participants to the scheme had submitted the initial payment. If the remaining three weekly payments are completed in time and the programme runs smoothly, it will be the proof that a pay-as-you-go enabled entry level light could work. It was concluded that a pay-as-you-go enabled entry-level product could possibly allow SunnyMoney to massively increase the product uptake during its school campaigns. And selling mid-range products in 4 to 6 instalments could allow customers with a low-income to climb up the energy ladder. There are currently no PAYG-enabled products with the right characteristics available in the market but some product manufacturers have started to look in that direction.

Title: Magnetic loss calculation in electrical machines by finite element package Authors: Masgrau Fortuny, Pau Abstract: In our report we first present the knowledge of and the sensibilities to the problem of sensitivity on meshing, this draft being followed by an exposition of the method of calculation of losses with help of B and f. Follow the Chapter II on the ANSYS FE model construction related to actual Renault machine, and then the Chapter III with verification of this constructed model. Chapter IV presents the pattern sensibility in calculation of B and of magnetic losses in the Renault machine model. Then in Chapter V we test the sensibility in different parameter configurations: still-stand and moving rotor, simple and complex structures, time and harmonic module of calculation for laminated and bulk materials. The methodological study is terminated with conclusion on both functional criterion (A) and the optimisation criterion (B) In Chapter VI the procedure of losses calculation based on B and f are presented. Unfortunately, we don’t have the measurements, it means we don’t have necessary characteristics of verification of our methodology. Such verification should compare both losses calculated out of currents and losses calculated (predicted) to measurements.

Title: Chaîne de propulsion innovante pour le navier fluvial du futur Authors: Gelabert Galmes, Andreu Abstract: This report presents the early design of an innovative propulsion line for the future fluvial ship, particularly for the R.H.K type one. The principal objective concretely, is to create a computer application which can be used for make the choice of the best propulsion line in every case. The R.H.K. type is a ship highly used for bulks and containers transport. Our design implies the choice of every part of the propulsion line, including the generator motor, all the external equipments relied with a correct engine operation, and the transmission line until the propeller (not included). A few technologies are considered: basically the choice between classic Diesel motor or the Dual-Fuel model, but also choosing a mechanical transmission or an electrical one. All the advantages, drawbacks and restrictions will be considered for every part.

Title: Aplicació de processos d'oxidació avançada per la degradació de colorants presents a les aigües residuals de la industria tèxtil Authors: Escarrà Senmartí, Oleguer Abstract: Les aigües residuals provinents de les indústries tèxtils provoquen un elevat impacte ambiental al incrementar la salubritat de l’aigua on són abocades. Dins de les aigües de la indústria tèxtil, les provinents de l’etapa de tintura presenten a més un impacte visual negatiu degut a la coloració típica de les aigües. En aquest projecte es comparem bàsicament dos processos de eliminació de la matèria orgànica i el color de les aigües residuals de tintura: Fenton/Fotofenton i Fotocatàlisis heterogènia amb TiO2. Per realitzar aquesta comparació s’ha treballat amb tres tipus d’aigües de tintura: colorant pur, colorant hidrolitzat i colorant en condicions de tintura (aquest últim equivalent a les aigües residuals abocades per les Indústries tèxtils). Per tal de fer el seguiment de l’evolució d’aquests tractaments i conèixer el grau de degradació o/i eliminació de les substàncies contaminants presents a les aigües s’han fet les següents determinacions analítiques: Presència de matèria orgànica i color. A part de les dues tècniques utilitzades i els diferents tipus d’aigües, també s’aprofita per comparar dos colorants reactius diferents (el colorant Crimson i el colorant Black) . S’utilitzen dos tipus de colorants diferents per provar que les aigües residuals de tintura poden tenir diferents conformacions i que tot i això els processos funcionen. Finalment es planteja l’avaluació econòmica enfocada al cost de la utilització de cadascun dels dos processos per cada litre de aigua a tractar.
